GLOBAL WIDOWS' ASSOCIATION

"Grief has made me look at others with clearer eyes" - Toko Muodzi

Counselling

We offer compassionate counseling services to support widows through their grief journey, helping them heal emotionally and rebuild their lives with resilience and hope.

Emergency Aid

We provide emergency aid to widows in crisis, ensuring access to essential resources like food, shelter, and medical care during their most challenging times.

Projects

We provide financial support to help women start income-generating projects and offer comprehensive training, empowering them with the skills needed to manage and sustain their ventures successfully.

Grief-Share

Our GriefShare program offers a supportive space for widows to navigate loss, share experiences, and find healing through guided sessions and peer connection.

We, as Global Widows’ Association, are committed to educating and eradicating domestic violence. In most of our African cultures, a widow is subject to a lot of abuse from society at large. Most are forced to remarry and those second marriages can be hell. We help facilitate a safe haven for the abused spouses. We provide Police Stations with kits containing things like soap, champoo, tooth brushes and paste, hair brush,  makeup etc. to help  victims when they go to Police stations after rape and domestic violence. Many women, after suffering from something like this, go to a police station where they suffer further humiliation through hours of questioning, being stripped down and probed and photographed. In the end, they get an often cold shower with used bar soap and then must walk out of the police station wearing the same torn, and soiled clothes they came in with. One final reminder of the whole ordeal. These kits allow them to clean up properly and leave with at least a small amount of dignity.

My husband passed on in January 2020. We have always been farmers but after my husband's demise I have people threatening to take my farm because my husband is not there. Thanks to madame Toko, through the Global Widows' Association, I have been getting moral/emotional support as well as groceries to take care of my 2 girls.

Nowella Chikokonya

I became a Widow in 2012 and in 2013 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am unable to work. I want to thank Toko for introducing me to her group of widows and Aunty Grace of Grace upon Grace Ministries. I dont know where I would be today without the emotional, physical and material support of the GWA. I am able to look after my 2 kids and I pray that God will not take me before they finish schooling.
